Her expertise as an artistic master and educator has made her a leading force in the industry, consistently adapting and innovating new techniques and styles to suit the changing needs of her diverse clientele.
Maria Thompson, a licensed cosmetologist and master braid designer, has been in the industry for over 30 years. She is known for her creative and elegant styles that cater to busy women on-the-go. Her techniques and styles are designed to be quick and easy, taking only 2-3 hours to create and 15 minutes to 1 hour to take out. Her line of styles are suitable for any professional setting and can be worn for vacations, social events, or everyday living. One of her signature styles, the Sexy Sassy Curly Twists, was created in 1998 and is a favourite among her clients at Twist & Curves.

Maria Thompson is a seasoned and experienced cosmetologist with over 30 years of experience in the hair industry. Her signature style, the Sexy Sassy Curly Twists, has been popular since its creation in 1998. In addition to her work in the salon, Maria is also a dedicated educator, sharing her techniques and knowledge with braiders of all levels through workshops and classes in the United States, France, and London. She has been a regular educator at prominent hair shows such as the Afro Hair & Beauty Show and Adornment, Taliah Waajid - Natural Hair & Beauty Show, Broner Brothers, Premiere Hair Shows, and IBS.

Maria is a talented stylist with a long list of accomplishments in the hair industry. Her work has been featured on the cover of Modern Braids Magazine and in publications in the US, London, and Paris, including the October 2010 Essence Hot Hair Issue. She has also written a column for Blacktress Braids & More magazine. Maria's skill and creativity have been recognized by the International Cosmetology Awards (TICA), who awarded her with multiple titles, such as Best Braid Designer, Best Cosmetologist and Best Braid Stylist of the year, in 1999. She also won Golden Scissors Awards for Best Braider.
Maria is driven by her passion and creativity in the hair styling industry. She continuously seeks new techniques and styles and shares her knowledge and skills through seminars, workshops and training programs with other professionals in the field. Her enthusiasm and love for the profession fuels her desire to inspire and educate others in the industry.
